With Thanksgiving arriving next week. I would say that this weekend would be ideal for getting any last minute shopping done before the busy week ahead. With scheduling events and activities for our friends and family time can get a little scarce. So plan ahead and plan it wisely. We wouldn't want to add to the holiday drama that most families have with packed dining spaces and crowded bedroom arrangements. (Someone always gets the floor).
If you have children then try to hear their requests. And try to accommodate. If the same child every year has to give up his/her bedroom then maybe try rotating rooms within the household. This way each child understand the importance of hospitality. Which is one of the main cornerstones of This holiday.
Parents you count also. If you never give up your room for a loved one or guest then now's the time. What better way to teach your child the gift of giving than to give up your room for a day or two. And hope you don't get stuck with the floor as a bed.
Also Keep in mind when houses are crowded and adults are cooking be aware of sneaky little toddlers and adolescents that like to steal a piece of that pumpkin pie before its finished cooling. Make sure to keep the little one aware that things are hot in the kitchen and possible the dining area too. We don't want our kids getting a nasty burn on thanksgiving.
Basically be a responsible Adult. Things can get crazy during the holiday seasons. And we need to set the example as well as have fun.
To keep the children busy get out some puzzles or activities for them to keep them busy and enjoy.
Or allow them some kitchen time, where they are allowed to help. This will teach them teamwork and the secrets to grandmas cooking. Just never leave them alone. That's how accidents happen.
Have a Blessed week and be safe.
